ENVIRONMENTAL TRAINING WORKSHOPS FREE EVENTS

RNRP has secured funding of £9,980.00, under the 'Awards for All' initiative from the Big Lottery Fund, to run twelve day long community workshops for environmental and skills development. It is planned to run the workshops over the next 12 months with most being held at the Newton Field Centre near Kettering, where there is a range of habitats appropriate to the needs and focus of the workshops.

NENE CATCHMENT PARTNERSHIP - SOIL PROTECTION REVIEW FREE EVENT

Meeting Room at Strixton Manor Business Centre, Strixton, Wellingborough, Northants

FREE workshop: Think soils for better yields using the new Soil Protection Review to get the best out of your field. These workshops are targeted at helping you identify any existing soil damage and how it can be remedied, and then how this may be entered into the new Soil Protection Review.

NORTH NORTHAMPTONSHIRE CARBON SINK FORESTRY WORKSHOP

River Nene Regional Park, Forestry Commission and North Northamptonshire Joint Planning Unit are holding a workshop to introduce the exciting concept of "Carbon Sink Forestry", and explore the potential for its adoption in North Northamptonshire.

Aimed at improving water quality to the Nene Catchment by working with and advising farmers about reducing the amount of soil, nutrients and pesticides which are entering our rivers.

EMDA & EMRA GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE SEMINARS & TRAINING WORKSHOPS

River Nene Regional Park organised these events in conjunction with emda and environmental partners with the intention to provide specialist support and mentoring for District Councils and other authorities in the East Midlands who currently have little or no GI support. It is hoped to show how Green Infrastructure can be delivered to Regional and Local government and non governmental organisations.

LIVING WITH OUR RIVERS, COAST AND SEA
Wednesday 4th March 2009, Lincoln

East Midlands Biodiversity Partnership is pleased to invite you to our second annual conference "Living with our rivers, coast and sea".

Our key-note speakers will be Professor Callum Roberts of York University, marine biologist and author of "An Unnatural History of the Sea" , and Christopher Pennell, Natural England board member and former East Midlands Regional Director for the National Trust. Through presentations, workshops and discussion, we aim to explore strategic approaches to management and conservation of waterways, the sea and the land that affects them. We will focus on current issues in marine and freshwater conservation, demonstrate inspiring examples from this region and engage participants with key elements of current consultation processes, including the Water Framework Directive and the Marine Bill.
