The Vision for the River Nene Regional Park is:

By 2016 the River Nene Regional Park will be an independent, inclusive, reciprocal and beneficial partnership of public, private and third sector members. It will be nationally and internationally recognised as the centre of excellence for the piloting, co-ordination and delivery of regional sustainable development. It will address strategic issues such as climate change, the enhancement of local biodiversity and the innovative development of the environment as an asset for social development, education, leisure & recreation, heritage & cultural activity, and as a primary vehicle of economic regeneration.

What is a Community Interest Company?

RNRP is now a Community Interest Company which means that it is an independent not for profit organisation that is able to hold assets on behalf of the community.  It has to meet certain standards and produce an annual Community Report.

How does the River Nene Regional Park Govern itself?


MEET THE BOARD

The board consists of 16 members, belonging to organisations from the Private Sector, Regional and Local Govenment, National Agencies, Charity, Community and Landowner bodies.  The board are responsible for making key financial decisions and prioritising the direction in which the River Nene Regional Park goes in terms of its future delivery.

MEET THE STAKEHOLDER STEERING GROUP

The stakeholder steering group meet more regularly than the board and comprise of representation from all the Local Authorities that the River Nene Regional Park project area covers, Private Sector, Regional Govenment, National Agencies, Charity, Community and Landowner bodies. The Stakeholder Steering Group act as a sounding board to the Board, the Green Infrastructure Delivery Groups and to the River Nene Regional Park Executive Team.

MEET THE EXECUTIVE TEAM

The role of the Executive Team is to administer the day to day running of the River Nene Regional Park on behalf of the partners including seeking new projects and coordinating bid submissions to a range of funding streams.

GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE DELIVERY GROUPS

The Delivery Group's are divided into North and West Northamptonshire and are responsible for the delivery of the West and North Northamptonshire Strategic Green Infrastructure Frameworks through project identification; project prioritisation, project implementation and monitoring of the wider green infrastructure framework. The Delivery Groups will be accountable to the Board & Stakeholder Steering Group, and a representative of each Delivery Group will also have a seat on the Stakeholder Steering Group to promote communication and liaison.
